Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Waltanna Farms Flax-Filled Heat Pack?
It is a handmade heat pack filled with 100% organic flaxseed grown at Waltanna Farms and encased in a 100% cotton cover. The pack provides warmth and non-invasive relief for aching muscles, arthritis, and digestive or stomach discomfort. Flaxseed is specifically used for its ability to retain heat for longer than many other heat pack materials.
How do I heat the Waltanna Heat Pack?
Microwave the pack for 90 seconds initially. If more warmth is needed, continue in 15-second intervals until you reach the desired temperature. To keep the flaxseed from drying out over time, place a cup of water in the microwave alongside the pack.
How do I clean and care for the heat pack?
Spot clean only. The pack cannot be machine washed as this would damage the flaxseed filling. To maintain the seeds' heat properties over time, periodically add a cup of water in the microwave when heating, and ensure the seeds are distributed evenly inside the cover before use.
Why is flaxseed used as the filling in this heat pack?
Organic flaxseed holds heat well and releases it gradually, making it a naturally effective filling for therapeutic heat packs. Waltanna Farms grows the flaxseed using chemical-free practices on their property in Hamilton, Victoria, so the same farm that grows the food range also provides the filling for this product.
How does this heat pack differ from the rest of the Waltanna Farms product range?
The Flax-Filled Heat Pack is one of 3 non-food, non-oil products in the range, along with the hand cream and Wheel Tracks book. It is handmade and uses the farm's certified organic flaxseed not for its nutritional properties but for its physical heat-retention qualities. It is designed for therapeutic, external use.
