Gluten Free Pizza Base
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Baking Time: 25 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup of Waltanna Foods Chickpea Flour
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tbsp mixed herbs
- ¼ tbsp salt
- ¾ cup water
- 2 tbsp Waltanna Foods Gluten Free Flour
- Your choice of pizza toppings
Method:
Step 1. Prepare the pizza batter
- Whisk together all the ingredients.
- Let stand for 30 minutes
Step 2. Make the pizza
- Preheat oven to 205°C
- Grease a pizza pan and cover with baking paper. Grease the baking paper (use olive oil or oil spray)
- Preheat pizza pan for 10 minutes in the oven.
- Take pizza pan out of the oven (take care as it will be hot)
- Pour half the batter into the pizza pan. Spread the batter over the pan evenly (you can do this by tilting the pan slowly from side to side and then using a knife to make it all even). This recipe makes 2 pizzas in a 36cm pizza pan.
- Cook the pizza for 10-15 minutes in the oven (the longer you cook it for the crispier it will get)
- Flip the pizza after 10 minutes- cooking the other side of the pizza
- Cook for another 10 minutes’
- Take the pizza out and spread tomato paste and cheese onto the base and or add desired toppings
- Bake until toppings are golden / cheese is melted.
