Gluten Free Bread
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Cooking Time: 1 hour
Ingredients:
- 400g Waltanna Foods Gluten Free Plain Flour
- 1 (7g) sachet Tandaco Dry Yeast
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp psyllium husk (suggested brand: BonVyt Psyllium Husks)
- 1 tsp Waltanna Foods Flaxseed Meal
- 450 mL warm water
- 50 mL Olive Oil
Method:
- Add Waltanna Food Gluten Free Plain Flour, yeast, salt, sugar, psyllium husk and Waltanna Foods Flaxseed Flour in a bread tin and mix well with a spatula.
- Add water and oil.
- Continue mixing until dry ingredients are mostly wet. Note: This mixture is very thick, but keep persisting in stirring.
- Put bread tin in a bread maker (recipe trialled with a Panasonic SD-2501 Bread maker).
- Use a dark crust setting (the gluten free bread setting may not work).
- After starting, help mixing with a spatula every 5 minutes or so. The mix will become less thick as it is mixed. Mixing cycle is about 20 minutes.
- When the mix cycle is finished, clean up around the edges of the bread tin and dribble a small amount of oil around the edges. We shape the loaf and run a spatula around the outer edges.
- Score the top as desired.
- Leave bread to rise and bake for approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes (rising takes about 40 minutes, baking about 55minutes).
- As soon as the baking is finished, turn the loaf out onto a rack leave it to totally cool before slicing.
Note: This instructions could be adapted to making bread in an oven. Adjust times and temperatures accordingly.
